At Falcon Judo Supplies, our story is rooted in both tradition and innovation. Founded by Marc Preston and Danny Alessandro, we share not only a passion for judo but also decades of experience building successful clubs, organizations, and products within the sport.

Marc Preston is best known as the CEO and founder of Destination Judo, one of Scotland’s largest and most respected judo organization. Alongside this role, Marc has served as Chair of Judo Scotland, a position that carries great responsibility and reflects his commitment to developing the sport at every level. Away from the tatami, Marc is also a passionate falcon breeder, often spending his free time training and flying his birds of prey. It was this unique passion that inspired the name Falcon Judo Supplies and our tagline: “Exploring New Heights” — much like Marc’s falcons do every day.

Danny Alessandro has dedicated his life to coaching and developing judoka of all ages. He and Marc were business partners within Destination Judo until the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted many parts of the sporting world. Due to geographical distance, Danny made the decision to rebuild his own clubs under a new banner, founding The Judo Dan Academy, where he continues to coach and inspire the next generation.

Though they followed different paths, Marc and Danny remained close friends and collaborators, often bouncing new ideas back and forth. One of those ideas became Falcon Judo Supplies, a venture that represents their shared vision to improve the quality, consistency, and pride of judo equipment worldwide.

At the heart of this new chapter is the Obi Stitch Belt — a reimagined judo belt that blends tradition with precision. By embroidering both the tags and the name of the grade directly onto the belt, Obi Stitch belts solve long-standing frustrations with adhesive stripes and inconsistent grading systems. This simple yet powerful innovation is set to change the way judoka at every level wear and showcase their progress.
